This review includes spoilers when it comes to Ghost Bride .
The Ghost Bride is just a Netflix original show set in 1890s Colonial Malacca. In line with the novel associated with the exact same name, the Malaysian/Taiwanese manufacturing follows a Malaysian Chinese girl, Li Lan (Huang Peijia), as she navigates love and a coerced visit to the underworld. And disappointingly, besides the yawningly boring narratives that are romantic trope-y characterization, the worldbuilding doesn’t deliver also. A big part that is compelling of series for me had been the vow of an underworld research. The Ghost Bride’s underworld apparently has club illumination everywhere.
